About the bot & creator
The Creator & an Epic Backstory
Hey! I'm Cyren, I go by he/they pronouns, I'm Malaysian, and I've been working alone on the development of Byakuya Togabot! Although I may not have a dedicated team who spend time working on the program alongside me, I do have two discord servers who use the bot and help suggest improvements to the bot which I'd like to mention. Thank you to The Catboy Lounge and those on my private server, Chaos Core, for testing, playing with, and fueling my motivation for this bot :)
I started making this bot after playing around and making an interactive story starring the player and Byakuya! From there, my ideas went to an original story plot similar to the Danganronpa games, then to a discord bot you could play Danganronpa through. However, my plans went astray from there and was inspired by the Yui bot and the now inactive Tenko bot.
I've spent many days staying up for the sole purpose of getting the code right, spent days forgetting to eat or do school assignments just for this bot, and that honestly isn't a bad thing in my eyes. I've put effort and time into this bot and I can confidently say I am proud of it. Thank you so much for your support!

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this bot work?
This bot is powered by Python [coding language] and the code was written on a site called replit.
Wait a minute, python?! How do you keep it running?
Due to it being in the format of Python, it is harder to find a place to host the code. (A site that has servers, that basically keeps the bot's code running continuously) After many months of trying to find a way to keep in running 24/7, I used these two helpful links to set up a server!

The bot is online, why is it not responding?
Try checking if the bot is responsive by saying 'byakuya' or 'hi'. The bot should respond. If no response is given, please ping/DM ciiphers#1010 on discord for any issues.
How long did it take to make this bot?
This bot was made over the span of three months, and it is still far from finished! Although if I had to condense it all, the time spent would be a little less than a month.

Where did you learn to program this bot?
The basic knowledge of the discord.py stuff I learnt from freecodecamp.org which outlines the most common used syntaxes. The rest (eg. if/else statements) where learned through classes in school and from coding classes on youtube. These should be very easy to follow, but if you encounter any problems or have any questions, please find me on any of my contact points.
